Revival USA.
9 th . March 2023
Wonderful news, a revival among young people spreading across USA, so how did it all
begin?
On January 3 rd . a seemingly unrelated injury occurred at a football game. Damar Hamlin
playing for the Buffalo Bills, fell to the ground having suffered cardiac arrest. When the
medical team began to use the paddles and oxygen, everyone knew that this was a
desperate situation.
Everyone at the ground forgot about football. The players of both teams formed a circle
together and knelt in prayer. They all new that their money and training were of no value
now, this was a time to cry out to God. Tears were flowing as they prayed for their fallen
comrade and the crowd left the stands and swarmed onto the ground to join the prayer
meeting.
The commentary team were still covering the event and one man, a retired player led
prayers on air. It was estimated that they had a million viewers. So, a football game became
a one million strong prayer meeting, wow.
The senior Pastor of Times Square Church said this was a mercy moment, but it wasn’t
finished yet. By the way, Damar Hamlin has fully recovered praise God.
One month later at Asbury University campus in Willmore Kentucky, a few young people
lingered after a church service. The Holy Spirit suddenly did something and the atmosphere
changed. Not only is this revival continuing but it is spreading from campus to campus right
across the USA.
At least one American Pastor predicted that what happened at the football game was not a
single event but the start of something. For what it is worth I agree, so, what was so
significant about that. One million people were crying out to God, having forgotten about
their own agendas and entertainment. Much like 120 people gathered in an upper room
prayer meeting on the day of Pentecost. Unity among Christians is vital to the Holy Spirits
working. The church was birthed that way, it should continue that way and will certainly be
that way at Jesus return. Read Jesus prayer; John 17: 20 – 23. Psalm 133.
If 120 people in one accord could bring about the birth of the church, and it’s continuing for
2000 years, what will be the result of a one million strong throng, praying in unity? Out of
that the question automatically arises, what about Australia? What about my church? We
will talk about that next time.
